QLD State Manager

Smenco is seeking a high-calibre State Manager to lead our Queensland operations. This pivotal leadership role requires a strategic professional with deep roots in the welding or metal fabrication industry to drive growth and maintain our reputation for excellence.
The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer and Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the performance and strategic direction of the Queensland branch. You will lead a dedicated sales team, ensuring they meet and exceed monthly and annual targets through the implementation of robust sales strategies. Your focus will be on maintaining Smenco’s market position while identifying new growth areas and partnerships.

Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the sales team to ensure they are meeting targets and representing the brand effectively.
- Drive new business by identifying emerging trends, new products, and untapped sectors in the metal industry.
- Build and maintain genuine, long-term relationships with key clients, suppliers, and distribution partners.
- Translate sales data and market challenges into accurate, pragmatic reports for the executive leadership team.
- Ensure the branch operates strictly within legal regulations and company policy.
- Handle high-level customer inquiries and ensure the standard of service meets industry expectations.
- Contribute to the broader strategic planning to keep Smenco ahead of the competition.
Candidate preferred:
You are a seasoned manager who speaks the language of the workshop and the boardroom. You understand the pressures of the metal fabrication industry and have the technical background to back up your leadership. We are looking for someone who is results-driven, understands the QLD market, and knows how to close a deal without compromising on professionalism.
Position Requirements:
- Extensive management experience specifically within the welding or metal fabrication industry.
- Proven ability to lead sales teams and deliver consistent revenue growth.
- Strong financial literacy and experience in strategic market analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent Smenco at industry events, expos and executive meetings
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Queensland industrial market.
- Experience or proficiency with Fronius equipment and technology is highly regarded and will be considered a significant advantage.
