An ABB robot with a Scotts automation welding arm will be used by CAgroup as part of their recent investment in robotics. This robot uses Fronius welding’s Pulse TIG with cold wire feeder for lead instead of the conventional oxy-acetylene procedure—a first for Australian welding.
“This is a brand-new technology that no one has used in Australia before.” – Srikanth Vegi, CAgroup Quality Manager.
Vegi also stated that although lead welding is not a new concept, this has been traditionally performed using oxy welding for the past six decades.
The Pulse TIG with cold wirefeeder produces no spatter at all, which means there will be no post-weld cleanups!
Additional Features:
- Seamless power source integration with robot
- Exotic metals are no issue, 2mm lead filler metal
- Part is welded and ready for shipping, no post-treatment required
SMENCO was proud to support CAgroup from weld trials to commissioning on this Australian- first welding project.
