SMENCO Launches Nippon Steel Seamless Flux Cored Wires

SMENCO has added Nippon Steel Group’s Seamless Flux Cored Wires to its welding consumables portfolio, strengthening its offering of high-quality solutions for demanding industrial applications.

Developed by Nippon Steel Welding & Engineering, one of the leading welding manufacturers in Japan, these welding wires feature a seamless construction that helps prevent moisture absorption and maintains stable welding performance. This design supports low diffusible hydrogen levels and contributes to reliable weld quality, even in challenging environments.

Seamless wire technology provides several operational advantages compared with conventional open-seam flux-cored wires. The fully sealed wire structure helps protect the internal flux from moisture exposure, improving storage stability and reducing the risk of hydrogen-related weld defects.

SM-3MA

A seamless metal cored arc welding wire designed for use with Ar + 20% CO₂ shielding gas. It supports root pass welding in all positions in the short-circuit arc range and flat, horizontal and fillet welds in the spray arc range, while delivering excellent impact toughness down to -40°C.

SF-3A
A rutile type seamless flux cored arc welding wire developed for welding shipbuilding grade E steel. Weld metal demonstrates excellent toughness in low temperature ranges between -20°C and -40°C, with strong crack resistance and all-position weldability.

SM-47A

A seamless metal powder type seamless flux cored wire used in all positions for shipbuilding and offshore structure welding. It features low diffusible hydrogen content comparable to solid wire and offers excellent crack resistance with minimal slag and spatter generation.

SF-3AM

A rutile type seamless flux cored arc welding wire designed for use with Ar + 20% CO₂ shielding gas. It offers excellent impact toughness at temperatures down to -40°C and provides consistent usability for all-position welding.

SM-80A

A seamless metal type seamless flux cored arc welding wire that provides stable arc characteristics across a wide current range. It produces minimal spatter and slag while delivering weld metal toughness at low temperatures and excellent crack resistance.

SF-80A

A rutile type seamless flux cored arc welding wire that delivers excellent weld metal toughness down to -40°C. The low diffusible hydrogen content and strong crack resistance make it suitable for demanding structural welding applications.
